You'll work with a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors, taking ownership of audit files whilst receiving mentorship from experienced managers and partners. The Role
As an Audit Senior, you'll take responsibility for planning and executing audit engagements, managing client relationships, and supervising junior team members. You'll work across a varied client portfolio, gaining exposure to different industries and business structures whilst developing your technical and leadership skills.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, executing, and completing statutory audits for a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
- Managing audit fieldwork, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and within budget
- Supervising and reviewing the work of audit juniors and trainees, providing coaching and technical guidance
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as day-to-day point of contact during engagements
- Identifying audit risks and control weaknesses, documenting findings and recommendations
- Preparing audit files in accordance with auditing standards and firm quality procedures
- Liaising with clients to obtain information, resolve queries, and explain audit requirements
- Assisting with the preparation of management letters and audit reports
- Supporting managers and partners with complex technical matters and client advisory work
- Contributing to business development activities and identifying opportunities to add value for clients
About You
Essential Requirements:
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years' UK audit experience within a chartered accountancy practice
- ACA/ACCA part-qualified (ideally completed Professional/Advanced level exams) or finalist
- Proven experience planning and managing audit engagements independently
- Experience supervising and reviewing junior team members' work
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of UK auditing standards (ISAs) and financial reporting standards (FRS 102)
- Experience auditing companies across different sectors and sizes
- Competent using audit software and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Companies Act requirements and statutory filing obligations
- Ability to identify audit risks and evaluate internal controls

Desirable:
- Experience with CCH Audit Automation or similar audit software
- Exposure to specialist sectors (charities, academies, owner-managed businesses)
- Knowledge of group audits and consolidations
