An exciting opportunity has arisen for a clerical officer to work within the East Lancashire District Nursing Service. This is a part-time, permanent post of 22.5 hours with the potential of becoming a full time position, providing admin support across the ELHT footprint.
We invite candidates that are keen, enthusiastic and committed to improving patient services, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure in order to provide comprehensive administration support to the district nursing service.
The post holder will be working within a neighbourhood team where tasks and duties will evolve as the service further develops. It is important the post holder is able to work flexibly at times, using their own initiative and organisational skills to complete tasks.
The post holder will be aligned to a specific team and is required to work flexibly in response to the needs of the service, providing cover on various sites to ensure continuity of a quality service provision.
The service is made up of a wide group of administration staff who support each other and are driven to provide excellent customer service and meet organisational needs.
Full UK driving licence with access to a car is essential.
An understanding of the need for confidentiality and previous administration experience is essential as is the ability to work both in a team and unsupervised.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, motivated person. Flexibility is paramount as you could be asked to work on different sites or cover an alternative shift to meet the needs of the service.
Strong IT skills are essential to this post as is being an excellent communicator with exceptional organisational skills.

Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS)
If the role you are applying for is identified as either controlled or regulated activity as defined in in the Safeguarding vulnerable Groups Act (2006) any offer of employment is provisional upon a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.
The healthcare sector is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
In line with other NHS organisations in the North West Region, the Trust is now passing the charge for undertaking a DBS check on to candidates in the event they are successfully appointed into the post for which they have applied. Candidates can choose whether to pay this over 1-3 months as a deduction from the monthly salary.
