An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Elective Centre team. You are being given the chance to become part of a committed team, providing high standards of care to adult patients attending for surgery/medical procedures.
We currently cover Orthopaedics, General and Breast surgery, Arterial, ENT, Oral and minor
plastic surgery, Urology, chronic pain and endoscopy.
The unit also incorporates a Procedure room and 14 inpatient beds
We are operational between the hours of 07:30 Monday to 14:00 Saturday, and the HCA role supports shifts on a rotational basis covering days and nights.
Transfer of patients throughout clinical areas to include wheelchairs and trolleys.
Receive patients into the reception/ Clinical areas – checking patients details prior to procedures and to act as a chaperone when necessary
Assist in the safe moving and positioning of patients.
Clean, check and prepare all transfer trolleys.
Assist in the cleaning of clinical areas and equipment, ensuring that the area is clear of potential hazards
Removing of clinical waste and body fluids
Ensure adequate stock levels are maintained
Deliver specimens
Complete documentation per local policy
Refer untoward incidents to senior nurse on duty
Compile admission packs
Participate in internal rotation within the unit
The Elective Centre is a very busy environment and can be physically and mentally demanding.
You must be flexible in your approach and possess good communication skills.
An induction programme, mentorship and in-house training will be given. Access to a company pension. Uniform will be provided.
Under the supervision of the registered Nurse provide care to the highest attainable standard as an effective member of the clinical team, in accordance with agreed practice.
To assist the team to have a well-stocked, tidy and welcoming environment for patients. Carry out assigned tasks involving direct care of patients in support of and supervised by a registered nurse in accordance with local policy and trust guidelines. Relieve trained nurses of non-clinical duties.
To rotate through all clinical areas to meet service needs. To cover the unit over a 24 hour period from Monday 07:30 till Saturday 14:00
