About the Role
Valoris Group are working with a well-established national renewable energy company with over a decade of successful trading in the UK market. The business delivers high-quality Solar PV and battery installations across domestic and commercial sectors and has built a strong reputation for compliance, workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Solar PV Service & Maintenance Electrician to join their engineering team.
This role will focus on the maintenance, servicing, and fault finding of rooftop Solar PV systems, supporting both domestic and small commercial installations across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on Solar PV systems nationwide
Diagnose and resolve faults on domestic and commercial rooftop Solar PV systems
Conduct system testing and electrical fault finding
Troubleshoot system design, installation issues, and monitoring platform communications
Ensure all work is carried out in line with industry best practice and system specifications
Provide technical support to internal teams and back-office staff
Help standardise and improve technical approaches across the engineering team
Maintain full compliance with health & safety procedures and risk assessments
Travel across the UK where required, with overnight stays Monday–Thursday when necessary
Essential Requirements
City & Guilds 2382 – 18th Edition
NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualification
City & Guilds 2394 – Test & Inspect (Dwelling)
Minimum 5 years electrical experience
Minimum 2 years Solar PV experience on domestic or small commercial rooftop systems
Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability
Comfortable working at heights (MEWP experience desirable)
Good IT literacy, including monitoring platforms and digital reporting
Full UK Driving Licence
Ability to clearly explain technical issues to customers in a professional manner
Desirable Experience
City & Guilds 2392 or 2395
Experience commissioning G98 and G99 Solar PV systems
Experience working on systems up to 250kW
Solar PV maintenance and servicing experience
