The Pupil Access Team is part of the School Improvement Service and its remit is to ensure the Local Authority fulfils its statutory duties in relation to school admissions, home to school transport, school admission appeals and free school meals.

 

The Job Role/Key responsibilities 

Working in a very busy office environment, you will use your interpersonal skills to communicate with parents, partner agencies and stakeholders often having to deliver difficult messages.  In addition, you will use your communication skills in a variety of situations such as school admission appeals and school Open Evenings.  You will use your technical skills to undertake the work of the Pupil Access Team ensuring that information and data is kept up to date within the education management system.

The Job Requirements 

Excellent communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently, maintain good records and work as part of a team. 

Applicants must have experience of using Microsoft Office computer software as well as specialised ICT systems.

There will be an expectation that the successful candidate will attend the office base at least twice per week. However, during the induction and training process there may be a requirement that this will be on a more full-time basis.
